I try to implement equitable grading practices to the best of my ability in all of my classes. These practices include:
Open note tests
I am more concerned with the successful application of the skill than I am with rote memorization.
Test Corrections
Make necessary test corrections with a metacognitive review, explaining where in their calculation caused them to get the incorrect answer and what they can pay attention to next time.
Assignments accepted until a week before the grading period ends
Life happens, and things come up. I get it. I am happy to accommodate.
Missing work entered as a zero until turned in. Any outstanding work will be changed to a 50%.
I will try my best to return any email received within 24-48 hours after receiving it from Monday through Thursday. Any emails received on Fridays will typically be returned after the weekend.
